2008 technology expo hosted at Peterson Farms Seed will include demonstrations of cutting edge technology in a “real field” atmosphere.
July 31, 2008 -- Peterson Farms Seed, a local supplier of corn and soybean seed specifically suited to northern growers in North Dakota and Minnesota, is hosting their annual crop and technology showcase July 31st from noon to 6 pm. The day will include many exciting corn and soybean studies. Highlights include:
Monsanto’s Stress Mitigation Tent – Environmental stressors frequently negatively impact field crops. See a demonstration of corn’s ability to better tolerate drought through the use of biotech traits.
John McGullicuddy Corn Clinic – The ultimate agronomic “rock star” – returns to PFS to lead an advanced class on corn management. John McGillicuddy is one of the leading corn experts in the upper Midwest. McGullicuddy’s class will run every hour, on the hour throughout the day.
Peterson Farms Seed Annual Research Plots – In over 40 acres of research plots, PFS is studying “hot topics’ for the northern plains. Studies include planting date, population and depth, as well as seed treatment trials and other practices.
New Traits in the Pipeline – Come hear about the exciting new traits in the product pipeline, including Roundup Ready 2 Yield™ soybeans, SmartStax, Dicamba and more. Executives from Monsanto will be on-hand to talk about upcoming Monsanto technology.
Nitrogen Use Efficiency – Genetic improvement in nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) is a compelling strategy for enhancing yield, as well as nitrogen management in corn. Monsanto is making efforts in breeding to lead to better nitrogen uptake and utilization. Learn about the ongoing NUE research!
